This week marks Allergy UK’s “Allergy Awareness Week” with this year marking the 25th anniversary of this vital awareness campaign, and focusing on what it’s like to have an allergy.
Allergy UK are working hard to challenge misconceptions of the UK’s 21 million allergy sufferers as ‘fussy’ ‘attention seekers’. Josh Abbott, a 24 year old allergy sufferer discusses his fears that if he went into anaphylactic shock in the street, no one would recognise the symptoms, or even know what to do. Pretty scary, considering he could be relying on them to save his life.
